Founded in 1940 by Vicente Daporta on the banks of the river Umia in Cambados, Pontevedra, Conservas Daporta is a family-run Galician cannery now in its third generation. Shellfish from the Rias Gallegas has always been its specialty: white clams, cockles, razor clams, mussels, and zamburinas selected directly from the estuaries and packed by hand using traditional methods. The cannery also produces canned fish and cephalopods, and exports to France, Italy, Japan, and the USA.
