Reese

Founded by Max Ries, a German immigrant who arrived in Chicago and set up a small shop on Randolph Street importing exotic delicacies, including kangaroo steak, chocolate-covered ants, and canned hornets. The Reese Finer Foods brand grew into one of the most recognisable American specialty food labels, and was the first specialty brand to move from specialty shops into mainstream supermarkets. The company's president appeared on the Groucho Marx show to discuss the exotic products. Now part of World Finer Foods, owned by B&G Foods, distributing anchovies, capers, artichokes, and tinned fish nationally.
