Dovgan GmbH is a Hamburg-based importer and distributor of Eastern European specialty foods, founded in 1998 when Andrej Kowalew acquired rights to distribute products from Russian food producers. Operating from its own production facility in Rostock (opened 2002), Dovgan has grown into one of the best-known Eastern European food brands in German-speaking countries and beyond, supplying a range spanning dry goods, canned fish, frozen foods, and prepared meals. Its tinned fish range includes traditional preparations sourced from Russia, Poland, Romania, and the Adriatic, staples of Slavic and Eastern European food culture.
