Founded in 1999 on the island of Groix, the only cannery continuing a tradition that once made Port-Tudy the leading tuna port in France. At the island's peak, 300 dundee sailboats worked the Atlantic for albacore, and the islanders replaced the rooster on the church steeple with a tuna weathervane that remains there today. Groix & Nature produces entirely by hand on the island, holds the EPV label for living heritage enterprise, and donates one percent of sales to the national sea rescue service.
