Founded in 2004 by Bill Carvalho in McKinleyville, California, after attending an Oceans in Crisis exhibit that convinced him to rebuild his seafood company around sustainable selective harvesting. The first large-scale sustainably focused canned seafood company in the United States, operating exclusively with pole-and-line tuna fishing. Ranked number one for sustainability by Greenpeace USA multiple times. Acquired by Bolton Group in 2021 but retains its own brand identity and mission.
